It’s Wednesday which means it’s time for another road trip Wednesday hosted by the girls over at YAHighway. Today’s question is:

How do you reward yourself when you meet your writing goals?

I actually have no good answer for this. I don’t reward myself with a certain amount of television, ice-cream, or chocolate. I kind of do what I do with working out, bask in the satisfaction of completing the task by doing absolutely nothing. This may explain why I don’t finish projects faster, but I think that has more to do with me being overly critical of myself and writing ability. Maybe I could develop an award system. Maybe, every time I meet a goal, I could…take the next work day off and spend it doing whatever I wanted. Perhaps I’ll take a hike in the mountains 30 minutes from my house, or I could go lounge on the beach 45 minutes away. Or, I could go to the Zoo since I do have a year pass and spend the day hanging out with my favorite animal, the tigers, alongside my favorite niece and nephew. I don’t know. There are so many options and only one day to do them. This is another reason why I may have problems hitting my goals. I’ve never been the greatest decision maker. Even deciding where to eat is a never ending back and forth with me and myself. Sometimes I want everything and sometimes nothing sounds good. I think my no award system works pretty well for me. Sometimes nothing is the best thing.

What about you? How do you reward yourself when you meet a goal?

Unfortunately my laptop is still not charging and it’s $45 to get it diagnosed, so until I get it down to the computer guy, my pencil will remained lost. That’s okay though, I’m still finishing up the pictures to my children’s book. Hopefully when I finish I’ll know what’s wrong with my computer. Til then I hope you all find your pencils.

Okay, so I’ve been a little slow on announcing this, but a few days ago my blog received The Versatile Blogger Award from one of my all time favorite blogs The Writer Side of Life.

Now, like with anything else in life, there are rules.

1) You must thank and link back to the person who gave you the award;

2) Share seven things about yourself; and

3) Pass the award to 15 blogs you enjoy and let them know they’ve been given the award.

So number one, thank you to The Writer Side of Life for thinking of my blog.  It’s really appreciated and brought a smile to my face.

Now number two…lets see.

1. Is I’m boring a fact…I don’t know, I don’t think that’s what I’m suppose to put.  Wow this is hard, lol.  Okay, right now I’m reading the third book in the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and her daughter.  Like my younger sister, I haven’t decided whether or not I like them, which is unusual for me.  I’m normally very opinionated just as a rule of thumb.

2. I love to bake.  When I had more time, I would make chocolate chip cookies from scratch and eat the dough.

3. I once purposefully dropped a weight on my ankle to get out of basketball practice.

4. My little brother once purposefully dropped two eight pound weights on my head.

5. I once was in a grocery store with a bank located at the front.  Of course the bank got robbed while I was there and I, unfortunately, discovered I would risk getting shot in the back by a sawed off shot-gun to save my too-curious-for-his-own-good little brother.

6. When I was in first grade my father sued the school district.  If you google my name, you can find me listed as a defendant, along with a lesson plan for law schools using the federal case as an example.

7. Even thought I have four brothers and three sisters, I only have one niece and one nephew.

That was fun right.  Moving on.  It’s time to list the fifteen blogs I’m passing the award onto.

I would like to say thank you to lbdiamond at Diamond-Yup, like the stone, for presenting my humble blog with The blooming of and Idea Award and for

her kind words.  I would also like to share the links to the other blogs she mentioned,

AJ & Charli Bite Back and Shevi Arnold.  I took a look around these two blogs and found them fun and interesting in different ways.  So please check them out.

Also, since I have received this award I have the pleasure of passing it on and recognizing either a fellow blogger or passing it on to two newbie’s (who have 50 followers or less).

So I have chosen:

Andrew Shattuck McBride

Cat Woods

Cassandra Jade in the Realm

I didn’t really follow the rules, lol, but these are three of my favorite blogs to read and I highly recommend them.

Til next time, I’ll keep looking for my pencil and I hope you find yours ;p
