I’m sorry, there is no blog of the week this week.  Instead, after much thought, I’ve decided to hold a contest in honor of my hundred followers. Yes, most of them are on twitter. 🙂 The only thing is I’ve never held a contest before.  I’m a contest-holder-virgin. So, before I actually go through with it, I would like to hear what my humble followers have to say.

Would you like a new copy of the Duff? We’ll Always Have Summer?  Maybe you wouldn’t like a book at all, besides,  I don’t know how to go about getting signed copies or any of that…if you know feel free to let me know. Maybe you would like a doll of a dragon eating Rhinoceros, Idk, maybe my followers are crazy like that.

So let me know what you would like in the comments below, keeping in mind I’m poor. 🙂 And I’ll see if I can make it happen.  As for the rules of my contest, they’ll probably be like everyone else’s: Must be Subscribed to my blog (or twitter), blogging/tweeting about contest earns you extra points, etc..

So that’s all for today. I’ll let you know what I decide as soon as possible.  And thanks for subscribing and following, I heart you all. ;p

It’s that time again!  Time for another post.  I can’t believe it’s Monday already, this last weekend flew by with me getting barely any writing done.  Speaking of writing, I have decided that I’m going to host short stories and poems here on my blog, so if you have a short story or poem you would like to share please contact me. I’d prefer YA, but since I’m just starting this, I’ll accept any genre. Also, I’ll put my contact information in the about page, as well as at the end of this post.

Now, since I’ve been busy rewriting and editing, I haven’t had much time to focus on my posts.  So today I decided to share a video.  The song is Dark Waltz by Haley Westenra and the clips are from the movie version of The Phantom of the Opera.

I love these types of fan made videos, especially when they tell a story, it’s sorta a guilty secret.  So enjoy and when you’ve finished post a story in the comments based off of this video, or an idea for a potential story.  Sometimes these videos can be very inspiring, plus the song is so haunting who wouldn’t be inspired?

Well I’m off to find my pencil, since I’m not doing NaNoWriMo I don’t have it on me all the time…

Oh!  I almost forgot ejeglin(at)yahoo(dot)com…e-mail me your requests!

Okay, so I know today is normally Road Trip Thursday, but really it should be Wednesday, so I’m fixing that now and making Blog of the Week my new post theme for Thursdays.  Oh, and I should have started with this, I’m back.  And thank you to everyone for your concern and for reading my short story over at Glass Cases.  It means a lot and it was nice to know people care.

Anyway my blog of the week for this week is….Between Fact and Fiction.

Three reasons why I love this blog:

First, I love Natalie Whipple’s design, it’s so awesome.  Before you read anything about her you have an idea of what genre she writes for. And who doesn’t love large-blue (my fave color) block letters surrounded by childhood doodles?  If you don’t, you’re reading the wrong blog.

Second she has an agent, Mr. Nathan Bransford (I’m so jealous), and blogs about her journey through the agented world of writing as well as being the founder of the Happy Writer’s Society, whose goal is to rekindle the joy of writing in writers who have lost it.

Last, she’s real.  I love writers who are down to earth and include little humorous tid-bits about their day. Especially embarrassing ones or ones that don’t put the author in a particularly good light.  These are the things that help us connect with each other and why I love Natalie’s blog.  In fact, her latest post reveals just how juvenile she really is when she makes a flatulence joke.

So click the link.  Check out Between Fact and Fiction and make mistakes so you can blog about them later.  If they’re embarrassing enough, I just might feature you in my next post for Blog of the Week.

Until then, goodbye.  My pencil seems to have accumulated a pile of dust since I’ve been here last and is in dire need of cleaning.

Oh, if you follow, write, or come across a great or well written blog, I would love to hear about it.  Just leave link in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out.  Who knows, maybe they’ll be in the next installment of Blog of the Week! ;p
